I have been schooled in many parts of the United States, including Houston, Miami, Columbus, Michigan, and Boston.  I came to New York City after college to teach high school mathematics.  I am now finishing up a PhD in Urban Education Policy at the CUNY Graduate Center.  My research interests lie at the intersection of secondary mathematics education, language education, and education for Latinos and immigrant youth.
